How it works

Step 1

After your consultation and the preparation of your tooth/teeth, your dentist will use the specially designed 3D camera to capture a 3D image of your teeth and the area that is being treated. This is instead of taking an impression!

Step 2

Your dentist can then design your crown chair-side. This can be adjusted for size, shape and colour.

Step 3

This design is then sent to our in-house dental laboratory for milling, characterisation and staining.

Step 4

The finished crown can then be fitted on the same day!

Temporary prostheses are exactly what the name suggests; temporary. With CEREC, the final prosthesis is inserted directly without any temporary compromises needed.

No more unpleasant impressions

Say goodbye to biting on impression material for several minutes, causing jaw aches and gagging! Our dentists now have a camera that can capture your full dentition in seconds. The scan is then captured by our computer, designed by your dentist with you, and then digitally transferred to be milled by our state-of-the-art machine in our in-house lab.

Natural-looking materials and long-term stability

• Due to the translucency of ceramics, the dental prosthesis looks like a real tooth.
• Using fully ceramic materials, we can avoid using a metal core. No more dark edges along the gum line, which is often the case with conventional crowns. A wide range of different materials can now be used.
• Ceramic is very well tolerated, so allergic reactions are largely excluded. This is not the case with other methods and materials.
• The CEREC method is a gentle treatment for your teeth. Minimally invasive techniques are used to maintain as much as possible of the natural tooth and to keep healthy tooth substance.
• With CEREC, you can rely on quality that has been proven millions of times over in practice.

Wensleydale Dental Practice is a fully computerised dental environment. This enables you as a patient to have impression-free digital models made of your existing smile, which is then used with professional photography set up to create a new smile virtually. After 3D printing your new smile, you will then have a copy of this which is placed over the top of your existing teeth as a smile “test drive” to make sure you’re entirely happy with the result before you have had anything done in the mouth. This technique which Professor Zachrisson pioneers with the Digital Dental Academy, means that you receive the look you want minimally (i.e. with as little tooth reduction as possible) and quickly.
